Reports to: Loan Review Manager

Position Summary:

The Credit Analyst will review the continued creditworthiness of the UMWSB existing loan portfolio, analyzing financial data and making risk recommendations. The role works within all SBA loan regulations, ensuring compliance with all SBA and UMWSB policies and procedures, and collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities:

Loan Analysis: Evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess a borrower's creditworthiness and ability to repay an SBA loan.

Risk Assessment: Identifying and evaluating potential risks associated with the loan, such as industry trends, management experience, and collateral.

Loan Recommendation: Making informed risk recommendation on existing borrowers within the loan portfolio based on current financial information.

Compliance: Ensuring compliance with SBA regulations, guidelines, and lending policies.

Documentation: Preparing spreadsheets for financial analysis, loan modifications, and other internal tracking.

Communication: Communicating effectively with borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise information about loan terms and conditions.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring no less than two days in the office each week. This arrangement may be adjusted at the discretion of your department manager or in response to evolving company needs.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, finance, or accounting; and zero (0) - three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with bank personnel of all levels, and bank clients

Must be able to understand financial data (Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Financial Ratios, etc.) and apply those skills as they pertain to the loan underwriting process

High energy multi-tasker with excellent time management skills, the ability to work independently, establish priorities, delegate and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Quick thinker with ability to make strong and supportable decisions under pressure

Proficient in use of basic computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Basic Office Machine Operation Skills; printers, scanners, copiers, fax, postage machine, etc.
