Summary:

The Porter team member is responsible for keeping all common areas of the high-rise residential building clean, well-maintained, and presentable for residents and guests. This includes routine cleaning, trash removal, restocking supplies, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating a clean and welcoming environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

At the direction of the General manager receives daily work assignments including, but not limited to, the following:

Maintain cleanliness of all common and outdoor areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and building entrances.

Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, glass cleaning, trash removal, and restocking supplies.

Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor promptly.

Assist with seasonal projects and special tasks, including deep cleaning, event prep, or power washing, as needed.

Other assigned dutiesRequirements:

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent helpful.

Minimum of one year related job experience.

Language Skills:

The candidate must have good communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

Basic knowledge of and use of tools and equipment in:

Custodial/Janitorial

Trash management

Concrete surface cleaning

Tools include, but are not limited to: vacuums, mops, brooms, carpet extractor, washer/dryer, hammer, pliers, pick, wire cutters, saw, drills, socket, wrenches, levels, shovel, rake, tamper, electrical tester, compressor, painting equipment, two-occupant electric maintenance cart.

Work Environment:

Occasional overtime work required when emergency situations arise. Rotating “On-Call” service as required.

The Association maintains a smoke-free environment in its offices, buildings, and surrounding property.

The Porter position may be hazardous at times. Extreme care should be taken when using any tool, while operating machinery, driving a vehicle and when working with electricity. Each employee is responsible to assist the department in maintaining a safe working environment.
