Job Summary: Full-Time Surgical Coordinator at our Paramus and West Orange Offices. The Surgical Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all Mohs and surgery scheduling. In addition, the role is in keeping Mohs referrals in house to help build our Mohs centers and tracking the cases referred out for Mohs by office and provider. Previous healthcare experience is required.
Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours per week. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays during business hours of 7am to 7:30pm. Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.
Surgical Coordinator:
Schedule surgeries for all offices and providers
Attempt to contact the patient for scheduling within 48 hours of result being assigned to the workflow queue
Continued follow up with patient to schedule surgery or document if no surgery will be scheduled
Process Certified Letters to inform patients of results as needed
Update the patient's chart in the EMR as needed
Communicate with offices and provider care teams
Answer Tasks and Klaras within expected timeframes
Identify areas of "leakage" of Mohs referrals and work with Operations to fill the need by adding Mohs labs and/or surgeons
Maintain the Mohs Plan per Office by communicating with the Operations Team to understand when there are Mohs provider changes at the offices and/or a new office with Mohs is acquired or build via DeNovo strategy
Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
Qualifications:
Healthcare Experience is required.
Surgical Experience is preferred.
Knowledge of scheduling surgeries including Mohs and excisions
Knowledge of pathology results and experience in discussing with patients
Knowledge of insurance and eligibility as well as prior authorizations
