Job Description

Salary:

Enterprise Network and Automation Architect

Join our innovative Design Division as an Enterprise Network and Automation Architect, where youll design cutting-edge enterprise networks and on-premises server solutions, leveraging advanced technologies like IP Clos, VXLAN, and EVPN, while automating deployments for efficiency. Reporting to the Director of the Design Division and collaborating with the CIO, youll architect secure, scalable network and Microsoft domain environments to meet global client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Network and Server Solution Design

Partner with Sales and clients to define requirements for enterprise networks, on-premises servers, and Microsoft Active Directory configurations.

Design IP Clos fabrics with VXLAN and EVPN for scalable, high-performance network architectures, incorporating trends like SD-WAN and zero-trust security.

Propose network and server products (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Extreme Networks, Microsoft Windows Server) and licenses to meet client specifications.

Create detailed network diagrams, rack elevations, and system reports (e.g., bandwidth, heat load, storage) using Bluebeam or Visio.

Microsoft Domain and Server Integration

Architect and deploy Microsoft domain solutions, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs), on Windows Server 2019/2022.

Configure and optimize on-premises Windows Server environments to ensure seamless network integration and high availability.

Implement zero-trust security principles in domain and network configurations to enhance enterprise security.

Automation of Network and Server Deployments

Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python) to streamline IP Clos, VXLAN, EVPN, and server configurations.

Automate routine tasks, such as IP address allocation, server provisioning, and network monitoring, to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

Evaluate and integrate automation tools to support scalable, repeatable deployment processes for enterprise environments.

Project Collaboration and Deployment

Collaborate with Project Managers, IT, and Professional Services Group (PSG) to plan and execute network and server deployments for 100+ users or multi-site environments.

Program and troubleshoot network devices, VXLAN/EVPN configurations, and Windows Server setups, leveraging automation for consistent delivery.

Attend client kickoff and turnover meetings to gather critical network and server details (e.g., IP ranges, rack space, power requirements).

Coordinate with client IT teams to deploy and validate configurations, documenting all details for operational handoff.

Support and Troubleshooting

Provide expert troubleshooting for network devices, Microsoft domain issues, and automated workflows, including IP Clos and VXLAN/EVPN environments.

Cross-train IT staff on network, server, and automation troubleshooting techniques to enhance team capabilities.

Conduct periodic site surveys to assess complex project requirements for network and server infrastructure.

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise

Proficiency in designing and deploying wired/wireless networks (LAN, WAN, VPN) and on-premises server solutions, with expertise in IP Clos, VXLAN, and EVPN architectures.

Knowledge of modern network trends, including SD-WAN, zero-trust architecture, and software-defined networking (SDN).

Expertise in Microsoft domain administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs, on Windows Server 2019/2022.

Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python) for network and server configuration; familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) a plus.

Proficiency with Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, or Extreme Networks products; certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE) preferred.

Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Visio) for network and infrastructure diagrams; familiarity with network simulation tools (e.g., GNS3, Packet Tracer) a plus.

Communication and Collaboration

Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions, technical documentation, and cross-team coordination.

Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate with Sales, Operations, and client IT teams.

Professional Attributes

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across networks, Microsoft domains, and automation workflows.

Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Commitment to staying current with network trends (e.g., IP Clos, VXLAN, EVPN) and automation technologies through continuous learning.

Willingness to travel periodically for site assessments and project deployments.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Minimum 5 years of experience designing and deploying enterprise networks and on-premises server solutions, including Microsoft domains, IP Clos, VXLAN, and EVPN.

Physical Requirements

Dexterity to handle network hardware and cables during setup and troubleshooting.

Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read technical diagrams and identify color-coded wiring.

Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. for equipment installation.

Mobility to navigate data centers or client sites, including walking, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.

Comfort working in controlled environments (e.g., data centers with cooling systems) and traveling occasionally for site assessments.

Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
