We are seeking a full-time staff accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial team of the organization. This position requires an energetic, detail-oriented, and proactive candidate with strong analytical skills who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Position/Title: Staff Accountant
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Fully Remote, with occasionally onsite in our NYC office.
Compensation: Base salary $90k

Responsibilities:
Assist Controller in the monthly financial close process
Prepare, review, and process journal entries, reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger, and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain various schedules monthly: prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations
Preparation of weekly cash projection
Prepare Electronic Funds Transfer requests and initiates transfers in the banks’ online systems.
Preparation of monthly reporting to lenders.
Preparation of quarterly compliance certificate reporting to lenders.
Processing of employee expenses, reports, and reimbursements
Support annual audit/tax return filing by providing necessary documentation/reports and collaborating with external auditors.
Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
5+ years of related experience, preferably in a similar industry
Experience working with NetSuite preferred or any other related ERP systems.
Experience with Percentage of Completion accounting practices.
Advance MS-Excel skills preferred.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
The role requires analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask, follow through and meet deadlines.
