Senior Accountant Responsibilities
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Maintains the general ledger for daily accounting transactions and reconciliations.
Codes invoices, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses discrepancies in payments for AP and AR transactions.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
Manages accounts receivable collections to comply with the company credit policies.
Ensures all accounting deadlines are met within the accounting team for on-time delivery of monthly close.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Processes daily cash receipts and ensures proper posting to client accounts.
Provides internal auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Maintains knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Requirements:
Senior Accountant Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
At least 5 years of related experience required
10+ years’ experience in leading an accounting office or bookkeeping role accepted in lieu of degree
Experience in multi-disciplined accounting required
Experience with multi-ledger departmental coding required
In-depth experience with balance sheet journals and accounting processes preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to GAAP
Proficient in MS Office suite software and ERP accounting software programs
