Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Richmond, VA Employment Type: Direct Hire Salary Range: $52,000 - $62,400 (Depending on Experience) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee and coordinate maintenance activities within our organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and machinery.
This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution.
The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the site’s General Manager to ensure operational excellence and building compliance.
Essential Job Functions:
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on production equipment within the facility.
Manage inventory on all tools and equipment essential to performing job duties.
Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges.
Ensure compliance with procedures and safety measures in cold storage facilities.
Perform equipment battery maintenance.
Monitor the PIT Fleet, ensuring powered industrial trucks are in good working order by completing inspections and reporting discrepancies.
Work rotating shifts and be available for on-call hours as scheduled.
Complete additional duties as assigned by department managers.

Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
Additional Job Functions:
Pick up supplies, equipment, and materials from various off-site locations as needed.
Work with outside vendors to facilitate the receipt and use of supplies and parts for maintenance responsibilities.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Four years of experience in cold refrigeration maintenance or a related field.
Certification or accreditation in one or more of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine operation, welding, or vehicle servicing.
Knowledge:
Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to change outlets, switches, light fixtures, and electrical motors.
Welding, grinding, and structural improvement of metal racking within the facility.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance and mechanical issues related to company equipment and facilities.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift between 25 - 75 lbs.
Standing 95% of the time, sitting 5% of the time.
Working Conditions:
Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Work in temperatures as low as 35 F in some areas.
Moderate noise levels.
