About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital team. This role will be responsible for providing operational support to various functions and practice groups within firm offices, as well as serving as a point of contact for all human resources questions, including but not limited to Paid Time Off (PTO), timekeeping system application, benefits eligibility, leave eligibility, accommodation requests, and recruiting, while facilitating connections with appropriate functional departments and providing updates to the HR Manager and team members as needed. This role will be located in our Global Services Office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
Understanding the firm’s human resources policies and answering most questions independently, using appropriate judgment to collaborate and escalate complex questions and issues as appropriate, and following up to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
Managing timekeeping activities, including following up with managers and supervisors to ensure all timecards are approved, answering routine questions about timekeeping and the timekeeping system, and ensuring FLSA standards are met
Leading new hire orientation and developing programs to facilitate new employee integration during the first year of employment to meet the firm’s objectives for new hire retention
Partnering with colleagues in the Office of the General Counsel, Well-Being & Benefits, Attorney Development, Business Services Recruiting, Development & Training, Compensation, and Strategy & Operations departments as needed to facilitate seamless communications and promote proactive services
Promoting value-added benefits, wellness events, and training opportunities in partnership with the Well-Being & Benefits and Development & Training departments
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Possess comprehensive knowledge of human resources functions
Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships across teams at all organizational levels of the firm
And have:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably with a focus in a related field; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of four (4) years of experience may be considered
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience

USD $95,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
