We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join a team in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience in mortgage or financial services, and the ability to manage a high volume of outbound and inbound collection calls. This role focuses on accounts that are past due and requires a candidate who can remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts at various stages.
Make 80-100 outbound collection calls daily through a dialer system
Respond to inbound calls from borrowers, maintaining professionalism and empathy
Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances
Maintain accurate and detailed account notes and communication logs
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes and provide customer support
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies
What We're Looking For:
Prior collections experience, preferably in the mortgage or financial industry
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Quick learner with strong computer and systems navigation skills
Customer-first mindset and a calm demeanor under pressure
Requirements:
2+ years of collections or related financial services experience
Familiarity with mortgage servicing or loan processing is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/dialer systems
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus
Schedule & Work Environment:
Hybrid: Mix of remote and onsite work
Standard business hours with some flexibility
Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
