General Responsibilities
The position is responsible for assisting the Principal in all aspects of administration of the school, including the establishment and maintenance of appropriate student behavior at school and school-related activities.
Performance Responsibilities
Share with the principal the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of students.
Oversees matters of student attendance and discipline.
Counsels individual students, and when necessary makes appropriate referrals for testing, guidance, or psychological counseling.
Helps administer the extracurricular program of the school, and responds to student initiated requests for specific new extracurricular clubs, activities, and programs.
Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules affecting the students' life in the school.
Resolves all discipline problems in a fair and just manner, and maintains records of any disciplinary action taken.
Supervise student behavior in the building, at student activities, on school grounds, on school transportation, and at off-campus, school related events.
Assists with registration, classification, scheduling, and testing of students.
Assists with supervision and evaluation of the certified and non-certified staff.
Understand and support the District Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan.
Attends School Board meetings and reports to the Board as requested.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned. Terms of Employment
220-day work calendar. Exempt. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
Qualifications
Master's degree and valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative Endorsement
Experience in personnel administration in education setting
Ability to work independently, stay on task, multi-task, and take responsibility to complete assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner
Prior teaching experience preferred
Teacher Evaluator certified
Valid driver's license
Demonstrate organizational ability
Demonstrate collaborative leadership
Available to students, parents or staff prior to the start of the day and for an appropriate period of time after the school day.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Administrative staff.
Physical Demands: Ordinary ambulatory ability to retrieve work materials, intermittent walking, standing, stooping, and carrying and lifting of light weight materials; requires visual acuity sufficient to recognize people, words, and numbers; requires hand-eye-arm and finger dexterity to use a personal computer keyboard, ten-key, and other common office equipment; requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over phone and carry on routine conversations.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office with minimal exposure to health and safety considerations.

Salary Range: $75-85,000 plus benefits, based on experience
