POSITION: Special Education School Social Worker for Grades 7-12
BUILDING(S) Stockbridge Jr/Sr High School
STARTING DATE: 25/26 School Year
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/ Special Education Supervisor/Director
RATE OF PAY: Per SEA Contract
SUMMARY:
This position is for a Special Education School Social Worker who provides targeted social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and advocacy for students with disabilities. The school social worker will collaborate with educators, families, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized plans that address behavioral, and social emotional needs. The school social worker will also facilitate group and one-on-one counseling to promote positive coping skills and foster a supportive learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed master's level school social worker and school social worker certification
Two Years successful social work experience preferred
Demonstrate experience and skill working with students PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct and consultative SSW services as documented in IEPs
Progress monitor positive behavior support plans, and IEP goals
Complete special education paperwork including REEDs, FBAs, IEPs, and PBSPs
Administer evaluations to determine eligibility for school social work services
Participate in Behavioral Threat Assessments
Support social emotional needs of students on caseload
Proactive approach to behavior and mental health needs and wellbeing
Interact and communicate with mental health team
Assist with Student Success Team meetings for students
Support the district and school strategic plans goals specific to mental health
Bill for mental health services (Medicaid eligible students)
Follows policies, procedures, and ethical practices while working with students
Remain up-to-date with current professional trends
Work alongside students and staff in support of at risk advising and peer mediation
Collaborate with parents/guardians, students, and staff to facilitate student success
Make appropriate referral information available to extend services as needed
Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
