REPORTS TO: Director of CTE

COORDINATES WITH: Director of CTE, Career Center Coordinator, Building Principals, Assistant Principals, Building Staff, NH Department of Education

WORK YEAR: School Year, 190 days

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting high school Career & Technical Education (CTE) students with meaningful work-based learning experiences. This individual will foster strong relationships between the school and the community, develop industry partnerships, and provide career readiness support to students. The WBL Coordinator is responsible for facilitating student internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and other hands-on learning experiences, ensuring compliance with Department of Labor requirements, and enhancing the visibility of CTE programs. This may require travel during the school day to different potential partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Engagement & Industry Partnerships

Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations to create work-based learning opportunities for students.

Serve as a liaison between the CTE department and the community to facilitate collaboration and program support.

Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, Rotary Club meetings, and other networking events to engage with local business leaders and stakeholders.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of business connections and industry partners to support work-based learning initiatives.

Coordinate business and industry representatives to visit classrooms for guest instruction, mentorship, and career presentations.

Attend Advisory Committee/PAC meetings to facilitate connections with new members and strengthen community involvement in CTE programs. Student Work-Based Learning & Career Readiness

Identify and secure internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and other experiential learning opportunities aligned with students' fields of study.

Assist students in securing work-based learning placements and provide ongoing support throughout their experience.

Conduct career interest inventories for freshman students to help guide their career exploration and educational pathway selection.

Facilitate job search skills training, including resume writing, cover letter development, interview preparation, and career exploration workshops.

Track student placements and maintain accurate records of work-based learning experiences to ensure compliance with Department of Labor regulations.

Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to student work experiences, ensuring alignment with legal and educational requirements. Marketing & Program Promotion

Enhance marketing efforts for CTE programs to increase awareness and student enrollment.

Develop and implement strategies to market CTE programs to middle school students transitioning to high school.

Coordinate outreach efforts, including school visits, presentations, and promotional materials, to showcase CTE opportunities.

Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and administrators to ensure effective communication and student engagement in WBL programs.

Assumes other special activities and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Career and Technical Education Director for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit according to contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Career & Technical Education, Business, or a related field (master's preferred).

Experience in workforce development, career counseling, education, or a related field.

Strong networking and relationship-building skills with business and industry partners.

Knowledge of career pathways, labor market trends, and workforce development strategies.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and marketing strategies.
