The Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer II of Endpoint Modernization is a self-motivated and ambitions individual responsible for the design, build, implementation, monitoring, support, and maintenance of Windows computers and customer high end specialized workstations. They will also provide tier 3 support and guidance on the deployment, configuration, and operation of Windows endpoints based on best-practice processes, disciplines, and related toolsets. Responsible for the automation, scalability, redundancy, performance, and functionality of all aspects of endpoint technology infrastructure including upgrades, customizations, and system integrations. Collaborates with others inside and outside of the department to support the delivery of reliable, performant, and maintainable technology services to the institution.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee configuration and management of the IT infrastructure to support requirements (e.g. data retention, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, information risk management).

Creating and editing PowerShell scripts for automation (endpoint configuration/remediation, application deployment, API integration).

Thorough understanding of Active Directory and GPO management.

Laptop and Desktop hardware evaluation and recommendation.

Analyze endpoint data and logs to improve processes and infrastructure design.

Create technical documentation for internal use and customer facing knowledge articles.

Mentor and collaborate with fellow engineers.

Crosstrain other IS personnel on implemented designs and processes.

Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.

Lead and manage internal infrastructure through established regulations & standards.

Implement and monitor incident/problem & disaster recovery for infrastructure support.

Manage and provide current systems usage statistics, provide future projected growth estimates based on customer’s demand.

Partner with internal teams to develop prioritization, metrics, and processes around capacity planning and infrastructure availability.

Periodically present capacity planning and performance reports to senior leaders during presentations and meetings.

Benchmark, analyze, and make recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.

Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.

Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Both Levels Preferences:

Administrative experience with Microsoft Configuration Manger (ConfigMan/SCCM), Intune, Entra ID, and Autopilot.

Administrative experience with ConfigMan patch management, WUfB and Autopatch.

Enterprise Linux experience is a plus.

Enterprise Apple management experience is a plus.

Senior Level Minimum Education and/or Training:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field of study required.

Master's degree preferred.

Senior Level Minimum Experience:

Minimum experience: Four (4) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.

Experience in infrastructure design, systems analysis, and security management.

Some experience working with commercial models around infrastructure capacity procurement.

Experience in customer service and vendor management.

Some experience in business stakeholder engagement and management.

Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

Level II Minimum Education and/or Training:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, business or related field of study required.

Master's degree preferred.

Level II Minimum Experience:

Minimum requirement: Two (2) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.

Some experience in infrastructure design, systems analysis, and security management.

Some experience working with business stakeholders to identify and document requirements.

Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

CompensationIn recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86,320 - $154,960 per year for the role of Infrastructure Engineer (Senior or Level II).
