Hourly Pay Range:$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Lead

Location: Swedish Hospital

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:30pm-7am, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

Performs patient tests, manually and with automated clinical laboratory equipment, reagents and/or test methodologies

Performs quality control per established departmental protocols. Records QC appropriately and takes corrective action when QC is not within established guidelines. Documents corrective action taken.

Reviews patient test results for accuracy and notifies appropriate clinical personnel or all critical results. Documents this notification per established protocols

Assists in orientation and training of new employees and students.

Assists Supervisor in managing Fiscal oversight for area of responsibility

Assists “Technical Supervisor” and Supervisor in the oversight of Technical and Quality Assurance for area of responsibility.

May assist supervisor in the evaluation of staff’s performance in their area of responsibility.

May assist supervisor, manager, or director in developing and implementing protocols for validation of new procedures/methods and equipment.

Maintains inventory and supplies within respective departments.

Performs computer functions efficiently, manages workload and established turnaround times.

May assist in Operation Support.

What you will need:

Education: Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in either Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS, MT, CLS) or equivalent.

Certification: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or equivalent required.

Experience: 2-3 years of previous Medical Laboratory experience required.
