Role and Team

This position is responsible for loading and moving customer vehicles on the auction lot and through sale lanes if needed. Provide and record accurate information on vehicles being checked into the auction. Reports to the Operations Manager or designated manager as part of the Operations team.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently load and move vehicles on lot

Prioritize safe driving. Consistent, and safe driving is crucial for this role.

Maintain good flow of communication with all team members and practice good teamwork

Inspect the wrecker or rollback to ensure the vehicle maintains good maintenance and safe driving conditions

Using a handheld device, input vehicle information including the VIN number, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders and any other pertinent information.

Verify the VIN number being entered matches the VIN number on the shipper's Bill of Lading.

Generate Stock-In sticker & Auction Sale Sticker (Vehicle Run Number) and apply it to the window.

Issue new run stickers for vehicles not sold in prior week's auction and input information into AuctionTrac.

Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property

Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service

Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers. Notify manager of all breakdowns and maintenance needs

Qualifications

High School or GED required

Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for the past 3 years

Must have experience driving a tow truck

Must be able to drive vehicles with either standard or automatic transmissions

Effective customer relations, communication and interpersonal skills

Must be 18 years of age

Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions

Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles

The physical activity requirements of the position are from Medium to Heavy Physical Work.

Ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours)

Frequent – standing, walking, talking, reaching, feeling, grasping, pushing, pulling,

Occasional – climbing, balancing, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting

Potential – running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations

Frequent driving requires excellent visual activity and manual dexterity

Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.

Physical Working Conditions:

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
