Description:

A leading provider of metal treatments is seeking a?Lab Technician/ISO Coordinator?to support plating and coating operations through precise testing, quality oversight, and ISO compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with hands-on laboratory experience in an industrial chrome plating environment and has a strong understanding of ISO standards and auditing practices.

Working with minimal supervision, this individual will play a key role in promoting workplace safety, ensuring operational consistency, maintaining ISO documentation, and supporting continuous process improvement.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, pH meters).

Perform laboratory tests following manufacturer procedures to produce accurate and reliable data:

Chrome analysis (2x weekly)

Sulfamate Nickel and Phosphate analysis (weekly)

Cross-reference test results using established charts for plating parameters and chemical additions.

Complete plating tank analysis forms, including test calculations and observations.

Communicate test findings to the Chrome Shop Supervisor and ensure appropriate chemical additions are made and signed off.

Maintain proper inventory of lab supplies and monitor expiration dates.

Ensure all lab testing is performed safely and in line with manufacturer guidelines:

Kocour Procedures #142, #143, #185, #240

MacDermid Procedure â Keykote 36 Heavy Zinc Phosphate #114664

Chemetall Procedure â Aerocote 4 Manganese Phosphate

Serve as the primary ISO Coordinator, maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with ISO standards

Conduct regular internal audits, identify nonconformities, and support corrective/preventative action initiatives.

Prepare for and support external audits, ensuring all documentation and lab processes are audit ready. Requirements:

Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum 3 years of lab experience in an industrial chrome plating environment
