Prepares and documents patient records used for specimen processing, reporting, and billing within The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM).

Essential Functions:
Receives and accessions samples and orders accurately in laboratory databases, LIS, LIMS, and other related software.
Delivers specimens to the designated testing area and records functions in the laboratory information systems.
Maintains accurate documentation – obtaining, compiling, and issuing records, reports, and data. Ensures correct distribution for patient care and billing purposes.
Communicates with providers regarding incomplete paperwork and other missing information.
Provides efficient and effective customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and quality patient care.
Maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning laboratory reporting and billing requirements, including yearly updates.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma, required.
Associate’s Degree in a science or healthcare management, preferred.

One year of clinical laboratory, medical, and office experience, preferred.
