Job Description

The School Security Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coordination, and oversight of all security operations across assigned school campuses. This role ensures the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and property by implementing proactive security practices, managing a team of security officers, and serving as the key liaison between school administration and the security team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily supervision, leadership, and support to all assigned school security staff.

Maintain a visible presence on school campuses, building relationships with school administration, students, and faculty.

Oversee scheduling, staffing, and post assignments to ensure full coverage for regular school hours, after-school programs, and special events.

Conduct regular site assessments and safety audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure all officers are trained in school-specific emergency response protocols, de-escalation techniques, and customer service best practices.

Act as the primary point of contact for incident response, emergency coordination, and communication with school officials.

Monitor incident reports, security logs, and other documentation for accuracy and trends; generate regular reports for internal and client review.

Assist in the development and delivery of security drills (e.g., fire, lockdown, evacuation) in collaboration with school leadership.

Coordinate with local law enforcement and first responders when needed.

Support the development, communication, and enforcement of post orders, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Manage performance evaluations, training, coaching, and progressive discipline for security staff.

Stay current on school safety trends, threats, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security management, school security, or a related public safety field.

Supervisory or leadership experience managing a team of 10 or more personnel.

Strong understanding of school safety issues, youth interaction, de-escalation techniques, and emergency response planning.

Experience working with security technology (e.g., access control, visitor management, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting systems).

Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

Ability to build positive relationships with school administration, faculty, students, and parents.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in high-pressure situations.

Valid Driver’s License: ability to travel between campuses if needed.
