CAD Designer II Civil Engineering
Location: Newark, OH
Pay Range: $28.50 $35.00/hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum 40 hours/week Overtime Eligible
About the Role
A well-established civil engineering and surveying firm is seeking a CAD Designer II to join their growing team in Newark, Ohio. This is a hands-on drafting and design role supporting a variety of public and private sector projectsincluding site development, utilities, roadways, and structural plans.
Youll collaborate closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers, contributing from early conceptual phases through to final design and plan production. The company values technical precision, strong drafting fundamentals, and a team-first mindset.
What Youll Do
Import topographic surveys and create 3D surface models
Prepare and revise exhibits and detailed design drawings
Execute grading design, layout, and other plan elements with limited oversight
Perform plan production and sheet setup using CAD (MicroStation )
Apply drafting standards consistently and make corrections from redlines
Support the full lifecycle of project deliverables across public and private infrastructure
What Youll Bring
5+ years of CAD drafting and site design experience
Proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation )
Associates degree or equivalent in a civil engineering-related field
Strong working knowledge of civil site design principles and drafting best practices
Ability to produce detailed, clean plan sets with minimal supervision
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
