Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Job Description

Qualis Corporation is seeking a Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer with basic knowledge of Alternative Position, Velocity, and Timing algorithms to join our team of well-qualified, diverse individuals at our Huntsville, AL office.

Essential Functions:

Assist in the development RF modeling, simulation, and analysis tools using MATLAB

Assist in the development and application of algorithms, methods, and theories in the investigation and solution of alternative position, velocity, and timing acquisition

Participate in verification and validation activities for system requirements

Perform RF system analyses using modeling and simulation methods

Assist in preparing test documentation for in test and evaluation reports

Participate in integrated test teams

Support technical interchange meetings and stakeholder briefings

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science (BS) Degree in a System, Electrical, Computer, Software, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering or another STEM program from an ABET accredited university

1+ years of relevant work experience in modeling and simulation development, test, and evaluation or navigation algorithm development

Candidate must be proficient in MATLAB

Candidate must have the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Must be a US and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in System, Electrical, Computer, or other related technical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

Hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Top Secret clearance

Possess an understanding of engineering principles such as Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), RF communications, measurement and estimation techniques, and error correction theory and implementation

Experience supporting projects for the Department of Defense

Knowledge of Kalman filtering or other optimization methods

Knowledge of machine learning methods

Possess excellent time–management skills to contribute to multiple tasks concurrently

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Possess excellent presentation skills
