Status: This is a full-time; hourly position

Hours: Monday - Wednesday: 3:15pm - 2:45am; Thursday: 3:15pm - 10:15pm; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: As the Hand Cutter 2, you will be responsible for utilizing a variety of hand tools to apply a final finish to complex granite materials according to production ticket specifications.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Reading production tickets and determining hand-finishing work that needs to be completed

Using a tape measure, pattern, and square to layout the stone

Laying out and shaping complicated contoured granite material using grinders and skilled saws

Applying multiple finishes such as VM, Bush hammer, 4-cut, Corduroy, etc.

Using a torch to apply hand thermal

Grinding and blunting the edges of the stone with a diamond die grinder

Utilizing various power and hand tools to cut and finish the granite tone;

Cleaning stone as required; may require the use of solvents

Operating various cranes and lifting devices to move stones as needed

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings

Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric

Must have good hand-eye coordination

Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production

Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision

Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Mechanically inclined

General math skills

Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed

ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifts 30-50 lbs. occasionally

Stands the entire shift

Wears all personal protective equipment as assigned
