Leadership Role: Lead the SCI/D service, collaborating with executive leadership, union leaders, and a multidisciplinary team to shape policies and improve service delivery.

Community Impact: Serve as a key consultant to other VAPSHCS professionals and community providers, extending your expertise beyond traditional clinic settings. Specialized Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy and Resource Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical leaders to formulate local Medical Center Policy, and plan resources for human resources, equipment, and space.
Union Collaboration: Involve union leadership in the pre-decision formulation of policies and organizational changes affecting service members.
Outcome Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor measured outcomes and collaborate with Medical Center Management to meet mutual program goals. Initiate actions for progressive improvement in service delivery.
Quality Assurance: Maintain quality control programs and provide continuous assessment and improvement of care quality, treatment, and services specific to SCI/D patients.
Customer Service and Education: Reinforce customer service focus, educate veterans and their families, and lead efforts towards achieving excellent service delivery.
Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks, including correcting prior pay period exceptions and completing proficiency and performance appraisals within 45 days of the due date.
Clinical Evaluations and Consultations: Provide comprehensive SCI/D-specific evaluations, diagnose and treat the general SCI/D population, and offer consultation to professional staff within VAPSHCS and community providers.
Emergency Leadership: Serve as a clinical leader in emergencies, providing compassionate, effective care that promotes healthy lifestyles.
Advanced Medical Knowledge: Stay updated with established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and technological sciences, and their applications in SCI/D medicine.
Requirement for this role:
Board Certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) with subspecialty certification in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
