Metrics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect as we compete for a contract with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This role will lead the design, evaluation, and implementation of innovative technology solutions to support USPTO’s modernization and emerging technology initiatives. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a mission-critical role in shaping and delivering advanced architectures that leverage cloud platforms, artificial intelligence, and secure practices. This position is primarily remote, with the flexibility to work securely from approved locations using company-provided equipment and credentials.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced solution architectures for modernization and innovation projects.
Evaluate and recommend strategies for cloud migration, leveraging AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to meet project and security requirements.
Analyze and integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing, into enterprise solutions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate business objectives and user needs into technical architectures and roadmaps.
Develop prototypes, proof-of-concept solutions, and pilots to validate architectural approaches and inform adoption decisions.
Ensure all architecture designs comply with federal security standards, IT policies, and best practices, including FedRAMP and FISMA requirements.
Prepare technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Support the development and maintenance of reusable architectural assets, frameworks, and patterns.
Consult with cybersecurity teams to incorporate security, privacy, and compliance considerations into architectural recommendations.
Participate in project planning meetings, status reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical leadership across the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience architecting and implementing enterprise solutions using cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
Deep expertise in emerging technologies such as AI, ML, NLP, and data analytics.
Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline.
Previous experience as a Solutions Architect supporting federal government or regulated enterprise environments.
Expertise designing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based systems in accordance with FedRAMP, FISMA, or similar standards.
Experience with modernization, cloud migration, and legacy system transformation projects.
