Job Title: Electronics Repair Technician
Supervisors: Electronics Repair Lead
Position Summary: The Electronics Repair Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing various avionics components in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. The candidate must be skilled in electronic/mechanical disassembly and reassembly as well as high precision soldering.
Position Responsibilities:
Circuit-Level Diagnostics & Repair
Interpret and analyze complex schematic and wiring diagrams.
Perform component-level fault isolation on multi-layer and surface-mount PCBs.
Use resistance, capacitance, signal-tracing, and power-analysis techniques to pinpoint failures.
Precision Soldering & Rework
Execute high-precision, fine-pitch soldering and de-soldering on through-hole and SMT components ( 0402).
Utilize hot-air, reflow, and microscopic-aid techniques for repair and rework.
Maintain soldering equipment and stations to military or IPC standards.
Functional Testing & Calibration
Set up and operate ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and bench instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, curve tracers).
Validate repair integrity through end-of-line system tests and environmental stress screening.
Record detailed repair logs and calibration certificates per quality management protocols.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Education & Certification
IPC-610 and J-STD-001 certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
ESD Control (ANSI/ESD S20.20) training and AMP certification preferred.
Technical Skills
Minimum 3 years of hands-on avionics or precision electronics repair.
Demonstrated proficiency soldering 0402 SMT components with solder paste and fine-tip irons.
Proficient in circuit-level troubleshooting using microscopes, solder stations, oscilloscopes, and curve tracers.
Strong mechanical aptitude: disassembly/reassembly of complex mechanical assemblies
Soft Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication, including detailed documentation writing.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic production environment.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to quality.
