Background

The Foodlink Community Kitchen prepares and delivers thousands of meals and snacks daily to students, senior programs, and other settings across the region. This department plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence and compliance with quality standards, supporting Foodlink's mission to end hunger and build healthier communities.

Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and accuracy are maintained in the Community Kitchen's daily operations. This role monitors processes such as printing labels, pan counts, and kitchen job aids to ensure adherence to established standards and regulatory guidelines. The Quality Assurance Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for quality assurance matters related to kitchen operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Oversee the expediting and loading of Kitchen meal sites ensuring that all needs are met regarding order accuracy, food safety, quality standards and timely distribution of meals.

Develop and maintain kitchen job aids to ensure consistent practices and adherence to quality standards.

Work closely with both production and administrative teams to ensure a smooth workflow between site orders, meal production and delivery.

Monitor pan counts and verify their accuracy to support meal production requirements.

Oversee the printing and application of labels to ensure compliance with food safety and packaging requirements.

Conduct regular audits of kitchen processes to ensure alignment with internal and external quality standards.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to identify and address quality issues promptly and effectively.

Ensure proper documentation of quality checks and maintain records for regulatory compliance. Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round position paid on an hourly basis, ranging from $20.45-$25.69/hour, depending on experience (DOE). Foodlink covers 100% of individual health and dental insurance with the ability to acquire family coverage with pretax dollars. In addition to generous paid time off (PTO), we observe 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Opportunity to contribute to a 401k retirement savings plan upon hire. Eligible for generous employer match after 1 year of service.

Training and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in food science, quality assurance, or a related field preferred.

2-5 years of relevant work experience, especially in a community-based or non-profit setting preferred.

Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance processes preferred but not required.

Must have access to reliable transportation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
