Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

LHB has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy & Industry Team in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices!

Job Summary

The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Providing mechanical engineering design for a variety of Piping Systems Design projects. Potential projects could be from a variety of markets, including oil & gas, pulp & paper, mining & heavy manufacturing, and power & distribution.

Working in a collaborative, team atmosphere to prepare project construction drawings and specifications.

Attending and participating in various meetings with external clients throughout the course of the project life cycle.

Completing and/or reviewing design calculations, system analysis & equipment selection.

Assisting with project reporting requirements and documentation.

Providing oversight and guidance to junior engineers and drafters on project designs.

Performing field verifications and organizing acquired field data

Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed.

Minimum Qualifications

4+ years of previous employment in engineering design

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program

Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

Professional Engineering (PE) licensure

Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and analysis software such as Ceasar II and/ or AFT Fathom

Experience using AutoCAD or Revit

Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

Must be willing to travel intermittently

Familiarity with hazardous liquid, gas, process, and power piping systems

Salary Range

This position's anticipated base salary range is $80,000 - $105,000 This position is eligible for year end and profit-sharing bonuses. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Hybrid Work Environment - Ability to work from home part time. The mechanical team typically works together in the Duluth/Minneapolis offices 2-3 times a week and works from home the remaining days.
