The BAE Systems site in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking an energetic, driven and experienced Machine Technician. In this role you will help develop and train team members in Machine Tool Technology with focus on achieving world class safety, quality manufacturing performance. You will be a leader with expertise in machining, process improvement, and problem solving.
As a Machine Technician in Aiken you will lead in the following ways:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety
Interpret drawings and specifications to produce components that meet strict quality standards
Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste and focusing on lean manufacturing principles
Analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies and collaborate with engineering and quality to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
Conduct regular visual inspections on CNC equipment to minimize downtime
Mentor and train junior CNC operators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify improvement opportunities and develop improvements that are aligned with organizational goals
Act as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies:
Deep expertise in CNC machine operation and programming
Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools and quality control techniques
Knowledge of materials, tooling, and machining processes Soft Skills and Cultural Fit:
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Demonstrated leadership qualities and a passion for mentoring others Required Education, Experience, & Skills
4+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code) and tooling
Experience with quality control processes and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC operations
Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and advanced machining techniques
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $58839 - $94143

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
