The Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Operator/Maintenance to work at our Hartland Sand & Gravel location in Hartland,MI. The Operator/Maintenace operates mobile equipment completing various functions such as gathering materials, loading trucks and feeding hopper and bins with materials, and stockpiling materials around plant area.

Pay: Starting at $23.71

Shift/Schedule: Day Shift, 6:30 AM Start Time, Must be available on weekends

Responsibilities The Operator/Maintenace will:

Perform pre-shift safety inspection

Maintain the machine/truck (e.g. greasing, oiling, fueling, inspecting breaks, tires, seals and bearings.)

Keep the "work" area level and maintain area to allow easy movement and access

Moving earth and other material to create pits

Monitor for change in machine performance to identify if there are any malfunctions

Assist maintenance personnel with repairs

Load materials in correct bins, carefully maintain and monitor feed materials and their levels of stock

Load trucks with the correct materials without contamination while complying with the legal weight limit for the trucks

Load feeder hopper with raw materials

Monitoring stockpile inventory levels

Working safely within MSHA regulations

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.

Mechanical aptitude

Knowledge and ability to operate heavy equipment

Knowledge of truck hauling capacities as well as loading and unloading procedures

Knowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, crusher, hot plant, and trucks)

Knowledge of materials and specification requirements

Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment

Ability to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather

Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings

Valid Driver License
