The Doubletree by Hilton Annapolis is hiring an Engineering Supervisor. The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for managing the Maintenance Department in the absence of the Property Engineer, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring task completion timely. This role involves maintaining, servicing, and repairing all equipment while supporting guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability goals.
The Engineering Supervisor ensures all guest and public areas meet franchise and corporate standards, supervises repairs, and guarantees the proper functioning of equipment and systems, providing hands-on leadership and interacting with both guests and staff.

Compensation:
$26 - $28 hourly
Responsibilities:
Oversee the operation of the hotel's utility systems and ensure mechanical and electrical equipment is in good working condition.
Ensure the Preventive Maintenance program is executed per hotel standards.
Train and supervise hourly Engineering staff, ensuring job functions are carried out appropriately.
Plan daily operations and conduct room inspections as needed, ensuring all maintenance issues are addressed.
Ensure the pool and spa meet health code compliance and check lighting and irrigation systems regularly.
Address and resolve all guest and employee problems in an efficient and effective manner.
Handle guestroom maintenance requests promptly and follow up on any alarms, reporting findings to the Chief Property Engineer.
Perform weekly hotel inspections, emphasizing the maintenance of guest rooms, laundry equipment, and public areas.
Maintain operational manuals and warranty agreements for all equipment. Conduct an annual inventory of the Engineering department's supplies and equipment.
Manage energy expenses and focus on energy conservation initiatives.
Conduct daily property tours for debris removal and exterior maintenance. Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain regular attendance according to hotel standards, adjusting to the hotel's scheduling needs.
Ensure all employees are attentive, friendly, courteous, and helpful to guests and fellow team members.
Ensure a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times, following uniform requirements.
Work Environment
This role is an on-site position and requires the employee to perform their work duties at the job site location.
The employee will be exposed to typical equipment and temperatures found on a hotel property.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
R4 Refrigeration License .
Vocational Education .
Strong technical skills in at least one of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry.
Computer proficiency in company-approved spreadsheets and word processing software.
Ability to clearly convey information and ideas.
Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Comfortable working with and understanding financial data and basic arithmetic functions.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and manuals.
Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records. Ability to apply deductive reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
Strong problem-solving skills for addressing concrete issues in standardized situations.
