POSITION SUMMARY:

The Volunteer and Donations Managers is an integral part of the Development Team and works closely with team members in developing new donors and strengthening relationships with existing donors by implementing volunteer and donation engagement strategies, stewardship, cultivation, and recognition that will generate short and long-term results.

The Volunteer & Donations manager will initiate volunteer recruitment strategies, provide guidance through onboarding and care during tenure to cultivate engagement and ensure a rewarding volunteer experience. They will develop and maintain community relationships in all sectors of the community to drive in-kind donations, as well as process, inventory, record and distribute in-kind items to various NAC sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Volunteer Management

Implement the volunteer intake process, including processing new volunteer applications, matching volunteers and their skills to appropriate teams and facilitating and tracking onboarding.

Oversee collection and tracking of volunteer data and documents in the donor management database.

Design and implement the organization's volunteer calendar in coordination with NAC staff, ensuring both episodic and recurring opportunities are pre planned and communicated with volunteers.

Work with appropriate staff to ensure volunteers are given proper training to be safe and successful in their roles.

Ensure volunteer assignments provide meaningful, satisfying work in a community reflective of the core values of the organization.

Manage volunteer groups and work with NAC site staff to facilitate service projects.

Ensure volunteers work in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.

Facilitate volunteer exit or dismissal process.

Administer and monitor expenditures for volunteer programs against the approved budget.

Report on volunteer data and statistics.

Collect and analyze demographic and volunteer satisfaction data via annual survey

Identify meaningful volunteer stories; collaborate with NAC Marketing Manager Volunteer Program Oversight

Promote volunteer programs and coordinate with volunteer networks to increase awareness and gain community support of volunteering and NAC.

Develop and manage annual program goals and implementation plan.

Develop and manage targeted programs and training to improve volunteer knowledge skills and experience in areas relevant to NAC's mission.

Conduct ongoing evaluation of the volunteer program, its processes, policies and activities; recommend and implement improvements as necessary.

Train staff and volunteer leadership to work cooperatively with volunteers and to provide them with effective supervision.

Orient volunteers to increase their understanding of the organization, its clients, its services and the role and responsibilities of volunteers.

Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to increase engagement. Donations Management

Serve as the main point of contact and coordinator for the solicitation, collection, tracking and distribution of in-kind donations (e.g. clothing, personal items, school supplies, food/meals, etc.).

In collaboration with the Development and Communications team, create a comprehensive donation plan to obtain donated inventory from various donor sources based on NAC needs.

Manage the donation scheduling process across all NAC sites.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with various donor organizations to ensure the continuing of future donations.

In conjunction with the Finance Department, assist in the receipting and recording of in-kind donation donors. EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

An established fundraising professional with at least 3 years of relevant non-profit development and/or communications experience.

A High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

Knowledge of volunteer resources management

Knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to volunteerism

Knowledge of housing, healthcare and recovery services

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with high accountability

Ability to independently manage time, tasks and priorities

Ability to participate proactively in meeting organizational goals

Superior writing, proofreading, and editing abilities; have a customer service approach to communications with donors

Well-developed organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

A strong work ethic, ability to maintain and model high personal, ethical, and professional standards, as well as an outgoing and positive personality with creativity, patience, a sense of humor, and perspective

A passion and commitment for the mission of NAC and have a clear understanding and appreciation for helping the homeless and low-income populations achieve safe and stable housing with wrap around care (health, nutrition, treatment, for all ages)

Deep awareness of Native American culture and the diversity of people we serve

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills

Experience working with the Native American population preferred

Independent thinking with openness and excitement for new ideas; passion for a collegial team environment and working with multiple colleagues on different projects at the same time

This position is considered to be Exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek.
