Job Description:
The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules for construction or engineering projects. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to client specifications. The Project Scheduler will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate and track the progress of tasks, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Track and update project progress, identifying any deviations from the schedule and suggesting corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain project reports, including progress reports, schedule variance reports, and forecasts.
Work with the project team to identify potential scheduling conflicts and assist in mitigating any risks that could impact project timelines.
Perform resource leveling and allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects.
Review and validate subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
Assist in the preparation of time-sensitive bids and proposals by providing accurate schedule estimates.
Organize and lead scheduled meetings with project teams to review progress and discuss potential issues.
Ensure that schedule documentation is updated and available for stakeholders to review.
Maintain a high level of communication with the project team to ensure the timely resolution of scheduling concerns.
Essential Skills:
Strong knowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret construction or project blueprints and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and suggest corrective actions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Understanding of project management processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 3-10 years of experience in scheduling, preferably in construction or project management.
Competencies
Strong understanding of project scheduling, resource management, and planning.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams.
Knowledge of project management principles and tools.
