The Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing expertise and support to employees, manager, and HR partners on all matters related to payroll administration. This role is one of the first points of contact for new employees and provides continued employee support as it is responsible for tasks and projects including, but not limited to, onboarding, payroll processing, offboarding, managing shared mailboxes and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Review paperwork for hires, transfers, off payrolls, etc.
Process payroll data entry in Workday payroll system
Prepare Employee Change Forms for terminations, pay changes, etc.
Process Anniversary, Employee Referral and Tuition Reimbursement, Bonuses and Severance Payments
Complete employee verifications of employment, mortgage applications and unemployment claims
Audit temp, hourly and overtime timesheets, prepare transmittal and submit EIB for Workday processing
Maintain active records and files for all actions
Handle and maintain Smartsheet workspace
Responsible for maintaining employee personnel files electronically
Assist in reporting and review requests, as needed
Run, review, and confirm payroll registers
Provide office coverage back up for department Payroll Specialists
Monitor and answer employee questions on AskHR
Submission of helix tickets for Workday inquiries and/or processing
Respond to requests and inquiries as needed from various departments (IT, Finance, HR Talent, etc.)
Job Requirements:
* 1+ year hrlink or other Payroll system experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
* Strong attention to detail; able to multitask and meet deadlines.
* A sense of urgency and ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Prior experience in handling confidential information.
* A pleasant, helpful demeanor and a customer service-oriented mindset.
