Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM (flexibility required) Seasonal schedule in the Hamptons (Sunday PM - Thursday)
Compensation: $85,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience
Benefits: 10 days PTO 5 sick days, and commute reimbursement to and from the Hamptons.
Job Summary:
A warm and welcoming family based in Midtown Manhattan, with a seasonal residence in the Hamptons, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Cook to join their household team. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of top-tier housekeeping skills, confidence in the kitchen, and a dog-friendly, proactive approach. The household consists of two adults, two young children, and one small, older dog.
This position requires someone who is energetic, discreet, organized, and confident working both independently and as part of a team. During the school year, the position is based in NYC; summers are spent in the Hamptons (Sunday evening through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform full-charge, museum-quality housekeeping and deep cleaning
Maintain immaculate upkeep of all rooms and surfaces (dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing, etc.)
Laundry management including delicate garments, ironing, and closet organization
Organize and deep clean bathrooms, pantries, and storage areas
Pack and unpack for travel as needed
Manage household inventory and complete grocery shopping
Assist with healthy, family-style meal preparation (primarily for the children)
Provide basic meal service and kitchen clean-up
Assist occasionally with childcare when needed
Handle pet care responsibilities including walking, feeding, and vet visits
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a private home in a similar role
Confident cook with a strong understanding of healthy, family-friendly meals
CPR certification (must be familiar with the Heimlich maneuver)
Must be dog-friendly and comfortable caring for a small, older pet
High level of discretion, professionalism, and reliability
Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Must be flexible, with a willingness to adapt to the household's needs
Valid U.S. work authorization
