ERG is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of all transportation activities at the Naval Support Facility Indian Head, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of vehicles and light construction materials. This role is critical to maintaining a smooth supply chain operation and will collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, customer service, and external logistics partners. This position is full-time at the Naval Support Facility in Indian Head, Maryland.

Job Description:

Manage inbound and outbound transportation operations

Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize cost, efficiency, and delivery performance

Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other transportation regulations and safety standards

Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, and transit time reliability

Collaborate with interested parties to align transportation plans with production schedules and customer demand

Lead and mentor transportation personnel

Leverage a transportation management system and other tools for load planning, tracking, and reporting Qualifications and Skills:

At least 5 years transportation or logistics management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

At least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience (ideally for 5 or more maintenance staff)

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Proven leadership abilities and the capability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations

This position requires a pre-employment physical exam

This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds

Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, chemicals); you may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs

Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts

Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
