Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Pathology
Join a dynamic team at a well-equipped hospital in Athens, Georgia, as a locum Pathologist. Covering for a retiring pathologist, this position offers a supportive practice environment with access to advanced technology. The assignment is set to begin on July 1, 2025, for a minimum of six months, providing you with ample opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the hospital community. Job Responsibilities:
Perform Surgical Pathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, Neuropathology, and Hematopathology.
Review and interpret specimens from laboratory technicians.
Take rotation calls for blood bank and organ procurement when necessary.
Gross specimens, alternating between biopsies and surgical sections.
Engage collaboratively with other pathologists and histotechnologists.
Utilize state-of-the-art equipment including Leica and Thermo cryostats, and Zeiss microscopes.
Document findings using the Epic Beaker EMR system. Qualifications:
Board Certified in Pathology (Required)
Active medical license in Georgia (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
Proficiency in required anatomic and clinical pathology procedures. License and Certification Requirements:
Board Certification in Pathology (Required)
Active Georgia Medical License (Required)
BLS certification (Required)
Conversion rate cap of 25k (Required)
