Physician ER traveler is sought to fill multiple emergency medicine provider positions.
Shifts and Hours: Primarily nights in June, with a need for both day and night coverage starting in July.
Dates of Coverage: Ongoing; specific dates to be determined.
Percent of Total Hospital Admissions from ED: 15%
Percent of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital per Day: 15%
Percent of ED Patients Transferred per Day: 1-2 patients
Trauma Level/Designation: No trauma designation, as this is a community hospital.

Number of ED Physicians in Group: 11, with 5 departing
Fast Track Information:
- Fast track staffed by APPs
- Percent of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track: 40%
Supervision of Other Health Care Providers: Locum physician will be required to supervise APPs.
Documentation System/EMR: Epic
House Codes Response: Yes, secondary to ED emergencies, with a response team involved.
Admission Orders: Written by hospitalists.
Response Time for On Call Physicians: 30 minutes or less.
Delivery Management: Delivered directly to Labor & Delivery.
ED Supervision of Paramedics/Ambulance: Yes.
Referral Protocol: Transfers to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, within 20-30 minutes.
Availability of Services:
- Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray): 24 hours
- Laboratory: 24 hours
- Blood Bank: Certified by AABB
- OR: 24 hours
- Anesthesia: 24 hours
EKG Interpretations: Conducted by emergency medicine doctors.
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 4 weeks for mandatory onboarding functions.
Provider Requirements:
- Must be local within driving distance
- Board Certified (ABEM and AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of residency required
- Active Massachusetts license required at the time of name clear
