Job Title: Company Controller
Location and Work Type: Kalamazoo, MI area Hybrid
Salary: $80,000–$90,000Role Summary
Our client is a well-established and growing small business in the manufacturing space, looking for a Company Controller to lead their accounting and finance operations. This is a highly visible role that reports directly to ownership and plays a key part in shaping the company's financial structure, reporting, and future planning.

You’ll manage the full spectrum of accounting responsibilities while driving improvements in processes, controls, and financial strategy.Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
Maintain and improve budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory requirements
Support leadership with financial insights for key business decisions
Partner with external CPA firm for audits and tax matters
Recommend and implement process improvements for scalability
Assist with HR/payroll-related tasks such as benefits administration and onboarding support
Maintain internal controls and data integrityRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar software
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
Ability to balance transactional tasks with high-level financial planning
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
CPA designation (preferred but not required)
Background in manufacturing or small business environments
Experience with HR/payroll functions
Exposure to process improvement and system implementationEEO Statement
