As an Assistant Maintenance Engineer at The Classic Center, youll be stepping into a vital role where youll help maintain and support the operations of our facilities, including the renowned Akins Ford Arena. This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of systems, from HVAC and refrigeration to plumbing and electrical work, and even unique projects like ice rink setup for seasonal events. What Youll Do:

System Assistance & Preventative Care: Work with the Engineering team to program, operate, and maintain our HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration systems, including calibration, testing, and upkeep to keep everything running smoothly.

Hands-On Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and repairing plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, kitchen equipment, and more. Patch drywall, paint, and ensure that all facility areas look their best.

Event-Ready Facilities: Prepare the venue for events with tasks like ice rink setup, responding to client maintenance needs, and supporting special projects as assigned.

Safety & Conservation: Support energy-saving measures, monitor systems for biological or chemical hazards, and take action to maintain a safe environment.

Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with team members, event clients, and service providers to uphold The Classic Centers commitment to exceptional service and technical reliability.

What Youll Bring:

Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree, trade certification, or relevant experience in HVAC, plumbing, or general mechanical repair is preferred.

Technical Skills: Ability to perform maintenance with minimal supervision, skilled in using both hand and power tools, and confident in a range of building maintenance areas.

Physical Readiness: Able to lift up to 70 lbs and work flexible hours, including some irregular schedules based on event needs.

Dependability & Detail-Oriented: Strong judgment, a commitment to safety, and an eye for detail to ensure our facility remains in peak condition.

The candidate who is selected for this position will have to successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
