CACI is looking for a Systems Engineer Technical Writer to support the Maritime Industrial Base Support Program. This full-time, temporary position plays a critical role in documenting and preparing systems integration and process documentation necessary for qualification and approval by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC).

The ideal candidate will bring a unique combination of technical writing expertise and systems engineering knowledge, particularly in military systems and torpedo architecture. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on the development and qualification of a new torpedo manufacturing line.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed technical documentation for torpedo process development, from component-level details to full-system integration.

• Create comprehensive manufacturing process documentation aligned with military standards and NUWC requirements.

• Prepare technical documents and descriptive materials required for NUWC qualification submission.

• Collaborate with engineers, program leads, and other technical writers to produce a cohesive and compliant documentation package.

• Translate complex systems interactions and architectural designs into clear, accessible documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

• SECRET clearance.

• Proven experience with military systems documentation and standards.

• Strong background in systems integration and overall torpedo system architecture.

• Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical information clearly and accurately.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technical communication, or a related field.

• Familiarity with NUWC documentation and qualification processes is a strong plus.

Details:

• Duration: Minimum 6 weeks, with expected completion by mid-July 2025; may extend to end of August 2025.

This position is vital to achieving NUWC approval for a new torpedo line, and your work will directly impact national defense readiness.

The proposed salary range for this position is: $39,500-$79,000
