Job Summary:

The Drafting Coordinator position is a key part of our Technical Services Department. As a Drafting Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in transforming visionary concepts into precise technical drawings that drive our projects forward. From overseeing and managing the outsourced drafting vendors for accuracy, reviewing architectural, structural drawings and specifications, and retrieving information to complete drawing, layout, or design. The Drafting Coordinator will also use computer-aided drafting software and follow established drafting standards to develop 2D/3D/BIM layouts, drawings, and designs that meet engineering specifications. Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Uses detail drawings or engineering specifications to dimension, scale or line locate.

Lead and execute small to medium standard, modified standard and custom projects.

Read/interpret as sold material proposals and set up/run standard meetings to start project work.

Prepare shop drawings and/or part drawings for standard, modified standard, and custom projects using established drafting standards.

Incorporate marked up corrections from internal and external customers with minimal supervision.

Prepare die drawings for projects and customer request.

Maintain current set of Architectural and Structural drawings.

Download from FTP sites as needed.

Identify problem areas/nonstandard areas of project by reviewing architectural and structural drawings and be able to problem solve these areas.

Communicate requests for information (RFI’s) after review of architectural and structural drawings to the project manager or customer, if necessary, offer department improvements to reduce claims and improve efficiency of shop drawings.

Knowledge Needed:

Well-rounded knowledge of manufacturing, installation, and glazing processes.

Require knowledge of a variety of standard products and procedures.

Understanding of project management principles to coordinate and manage drafting tasks effectively.

Understand specification sections for a project to ensure correctness of shop drawings.

Skills Needed:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to identify and resolve design and drafting issues efficiently.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to work well in a team environment, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

Strong proficiency to produce accurate and precise drawings.

Proven technical proficiency in CAD software and drafting techniques.

Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, design drawings and sketches to review with team leaders to ensure correct interpretations.

Capability to check shop drawings of others using established drafting standards ability to train others in 3D/BIM.

Exceptional organization skills with the ability to maintain files and records of drawings

Qualifications

You have: (required)

HS Diploma or GED from a qualified educational institution

Minimum of 3 years’ experience with AutoCAD/Revit/Inventor

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)

Associate Degree in Drafting or Design from an accredited institution.

Drafting Certificate from an accredited institution.

Experience in curtainwall/ window wall design projects.

Minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing, construction, or architectural experience.

This position will operate in person in a professional office environment in Springdale, AR
