NOW CFO is seeking an experienced Part-Time Controller to join our Bay Area consulting team with expertise in the construction and manufacturing sector.
As a Controller consultant, you’ll monitor our client’s financial and accounting status, review quarterly and annual budgets, and manage accounting transactions. The day-to-day responsibilities will vary significantly depending on each client’s size and unique needs.
This role offers flexible hours, a hybrid work schedule, and compensation of $70-$90 per hour, based on experience. The ideal candidate has a diverse background, construction and manufacturing preferred, and a willingness to commute from San Francisco to San Jose.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all financial and accounting activities and personnel.
Set controls and budgets to mitigate risks and increase return on investments.
Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
Conduct internal audits to assess financial status.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or Finance (BS/BA/MBA).
Extensive experience in accounting management or related fields.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
Strong leadership qualities and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Deadline and detail-oriented.
CPA preferred but not required.
Public accounting background is preferred but not required.
