Job Title: Human Resources Manager

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Sr. Director of Human Resources

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is an active member of the HR team and is responsible for directing GBFB’s human resources functions. Including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, administering benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position will oversee, monitor and develop comprehensive HR strategies, policies and practices that create a diverse, respectful, welcoming and inclusive work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Guiding supervisors/managers and individual contributors regarding GBFB policies, practices, Values, and HR programs. Communicating, and interpreting HR policies and practices to ensure fair and consistent application, recommending policy revisions.

Assist with recruitment process, including posting job openings, and coordinating interviews.

Oversee the onboarding process for new hires.

Serve as point of contact for team members regarding HR policies, procedures, and concerns. Resolve conflicts while ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Assisting in coordinating performance reviews, provide guidance to management on employee reviews, and support staff development and growth. Maintain and update HR policies, ensure compliance with local state, and federal employment laws, and implement best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement plans, and other incentives.

Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.

Maintain employee records and prepare necessary HR reports as needed.

Collaborating with the Human Resources Team Members to create and facilitate effective DEI-related training, with a focus on building cultural competence.

Supporting internal communications on DEI topics.

Performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience supporting internal communications on DEI topics

Experience in effectively initiating and leading uncomfortable inclusion-based conversations with employees and stakeholders at all levels.

Experience in evaluating employee engagement and developing initiatives to maintain and/or improve engagement.

Experience working with a non-exempt and exempt workforce.

Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office environment.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facility, including the warehouse.

Work Environment

This role follows a hybrid schedule working in accordance with GBFB’s hybrid work policy. Our in-office time is used primarily for team meetings and formal and informal collaboration necessary to foster and support a positive work culture.

This schedule is subject to change based on the organization’s mission to end hunger.

The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting.

Ability to travel based on business needs.
