Job Description

The Quality Engineering Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that all products, materials, and processes meet the highest quality standards required by the company, customers, and regulatory bodies. This role directly impacts the company’s reputation for excellence and customers’ satisfaction.

In addition to maintaining quality standards, the Quality Verification Lead contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by cooperating with all business’s departments for process optimisation and providing valuable insights into quality trends and root causes of defects. This ensures that the company remains competitive and maintains its commitment to excellence in every product it delivers.

The Role (What you’ll be doing)

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:

Inspection, Testing, Documentation and Reporting:

Support inspectors with routine inspections and measurements of materials, components, and finished products using standard testing equipment and test boxes available on site.

Support inspectors with incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance to company’s quality standards.

Support inspectors with tests on products and materials, recording results correctly.

Prepare quality reports, highlighting non-conformities, trends, and improvement opportunities (where needed).

Non-Conformance:

Take responsibility for investigating and documenting any non-conforming materials, processes, or products complaints.

Collaborate with the Quality team and other departments to investigate non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Investigate internal quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions where needed.

Process Support and Improvement:

Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, recommend ideas to improve quality performance.

Take responsibility of the PPAP and FAIR

Act as the link between the Quality and Engineering Departments

Own the change control process ensuring Internal & Supplier Engineering Changes are captured and customer drawing updates are flowed through the business

Support other areas of the business if the need arises

Conduct regular internal quality checks and audits on products, services, and processes to ensure compliance with company standards and clients’ requirements.

Review Product Returns to document corrective action and root cause analysis

Calibration and Maintenance:

Report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies promptly.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, recommend new technology, services and processes to improve quality performance.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies while performing quality tasks.

Ensure that all work aligns with relevant industry standards (ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, Ex Certification – ISO/IEC 80079 and others in the future).

Mentoring and training:

Train and mentor other inspectors on inspection techniques, quality standards, and procedures when required.

Leading a team:

Lead, manage, and coordinate the team to ensure all tasks and goals are completed efficiently.

Ensure the team meets or exceeds set performance targets, KPIs, and deadlines.

Address performance gaps by implementing corrective actions and improvement plans.

Provide regular reports to management on team progress and achievements.

Act as the first point of contact for resolving issues within the team.

Train and coach team members on company policies, procedures, and expectations.

Communicate company updates, goals, and feedback clearly to team members.

Encourage and support ongoing professional growth among team members.

Foster open communication within the team, promoting transparency and mutual respect.

Act as a liaison between the team and other departments or management.
