Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct nursing care to patients in a primary care setting under the supervision of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician. The LVN supports clinical operations by assisting with patient assessments, treatments, and education to promote quality health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine clinical tasks, including vital signs, injections, immunizations, and specimen collection.
Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
Administer medications and treatments as directed.
Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and report concerns promptly.
Support care coordination and follow-up with patients as needed.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications:
Current and valid LVN license in the state of Texas.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
One year of clinical nursing experience preferred; primary care or outpatient setting experience is a plus.
Proficient in using EHR systems and basic computer applications.
Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
