POSITION SUMMARY:
The Student Success Graduate Assistant supports the functions of the Student Success Program by collaborating with faculty, staff and students to provide opportunities to help students reach their academic and personal goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Individual and group tutoring for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Monitoring and maintenance of Student Success Plans
Performs research, compiles statistics, and analyzed data and other work related to a variety of Student Success matters.
Assist in ADA accommodation fidelity in classrooms
Mentoring students
Proctoring individual/group exams
Modeling positive learning strategies to promote positive learning habits
Create and deliver targeted skillshop tutorials for individual and groups of students
Monitor Required Study Hall in the Keleher Learning Commons
Assists the Student Success staff with special projects and general tasks
Serves as a role model to students and student staff
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Work location is Leavenworth Main Campus. Some time may be spent at the Overland Park Campus
Ability to judiciously handle confidential academic and attendance information/data/conversations
Bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Saint Mary
Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Must be self-starter – able to work with minimal direction/supervision and should possess and demonstrate initiative
Must be highly motivated, energetic and ready to assume the responsibility for a comprehensive program; must be imaginative and creative; able to promote and encourage enthusiasm for division activities.
Intermediate level experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be able to successfully pass required background screening as appropriate
Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary
