About the Role:
The Security Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both personnel and property. This position involves monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding to incidents to ensure the safety of the premises. The Security Officer will utilize various technologies and communication tools to effectively manage security operations. A key aspect of this role is to enforce security policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to all individuals on site. Ultimately, the Security Officer is responsible for preventing unauthorized access and ensuring a prompt response to any security-related issues. Currently there are two open positions - shifts will be 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am. Starting pay is $13.00 with a 50-cent increase after completion of the 60-day probationary period.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Proven experience in a security role or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with security technology and access control systems.
First aid and CPR certification.
Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter the premises.
Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and address any potential security threats.
Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences.
Provide assistance and information to employees and visitors, fostering a welcoming and secure environment.
Skills:
The required skills for this position, such as intermediate computer proficiency, will be utilized for monitoring security systems and maintaining incident reports. Wireless technology knowledge is essential for effective communication with team members and emergency services. Strong oral communication skills will enable the Security Officer to interact professionally with staff and visitors, ensuring clarity in instructions and responses. Physical skills, including the ability to climb stairs and perform repetitive motions, are necessary for conducting thorough patrols of the facility. Additionally, radio communication skills will be critical for coordinating with other security personnel and responding to incidents in real-time.
