My Healthy Penguin is a Southern California-based meal prep company specializing in fresh, healthy meals delivered directly to customers and stocked in Grab & Go fridges in local private gyms, businesses and more. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Production Manager to lead our plating and packaging team and help maintain the high standards our customers expect.

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations related to meal plating and packaging. This includes managing production flow, ensuring food safety and quality control, supporting employee training, and maintaining a positive and efficient team environment. Youll be on the floorsolving problems in real time, managing chaos, and keeping the shift focused and productive.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the plating and packaging of meals during scheduled shifts

Ensure meals meet portioning, labeling, and presentation standards

Manage and verify the Pick & Pack (bagging) process for customer order accuracy

Uphold all SOPs related to food safety, cleanliness, and operational flow

Lead daily production huddles and keep team momentum strong throughout the day

Train and support new hires and hold existing staff accountable to standards

Communicate with the Head Chef and Operations Manager to resolve any shortages or production issues

Monitor and respond to bottlenecks or slowdowns in real time

Have direct reports 6-15 people at a time

Requirements

23 years of experience in a food production, catering, commercial kitchen, or meal prep environment

Proven leadership experience (managing teams in a fast-paced setting)

Strong attention to detail and time management

Comfortable giving direction and handling real-time decision making

Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple moving parts

Food Handler's Card (San Bernardino County) required upon hire

ServSafe certification preferred

Work Schedule

Wednesdays: 9AM 4PM (May potentially be longer in the coming months)

Fridays: 10:30 AM 4:30 PM

Saturdays: 8:30 AM 5:30 PM

Part-time
