Bakery Assistant Job Description

It is the Bakery Assistant’s responsibility to assure that each Guest enjoys a great experience by assisting to provide baked goods that are both superior in taste and quality. To be personally responsible for all aspects of the Guest experience. Other responsibilities and requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities/Duties:

Understanding of baking and pastry.

To act as a role model to co-workers by displaying a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity;

Always go out of your way to help your co-workers;

Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner;

Understands kitchen equipment and the operation of the equipment;

Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant;

Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes;

Assists in keeping all food storage areas, refrigerator, freezer, etc. clean and organized;

Handles, stores, and rotates all food items properly;

Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills;

Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas;

Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Pastry Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.

Requirements:

Certified Texas Food Handlers;

Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds;

Ability to stand 100% of the time;
