SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, performs specialized tasks in the maintenance of plant or office buildings in two or more skilled areas including plumbing and pipe fitting, carpentry, painting and plastering, service of machinery, electrical maintenance, and custodial.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, boilers, and chiller systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including control panels, electrical motors, wiring, PLCs, sensors, and other electrical components.
Perform new industrial electrical installations on 480V and 220V electrical systems, including wiring, panel connections, and system configurations.
Work with the engineering team to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), to ensure a safe working environment and adherence to safety regulations.
Assist in the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance schedules.
Work independently to prioritize tasks and manage work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
Communicate effectively with the engineering team and production staff to coordinate work, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal disruption to production.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong mechanical skills and experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, Boilers, and conveyors.
Competent electrical knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems, including motors, control panels, PLCs, and sensors.
Ability to perform new industrial electrical installations on 480V and 220V systems, including panel connections, wiring, and configuration.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, precision measuring instruments, and troubleshooting techniques to quickly identify issues and minimize downtime.
Working knowledge of safety standards and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other OSHA safety guidelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks within deadlines.
Basic computer skills to manage work orders, inventory, and maintenance records.
Preferred Qualifications:
5-10 years, Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Associate degree or certification in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, etc.).
Experience working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and best practices for both mechanical and electrical systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position functions on the production floor and therefore, will experience characteristics commonly found in a manufacturing setting. Characteristics would include (but not limited to):
frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per shift depending on shift assigned.
Overtime is voluntary. However, having flexibility to working ones "fair share" of overtime as business needs may warrant also spread the overtime burden across the entire department. All overtime must be pre-approved by the supervisor or department leader.
Overtime notice will be communicated as far in advance as feasible, however, based on the nature of the work overtime notice may be less than one workday at times.
