About the Role
The Resident Application Engineer I is an entry-level position providing support to the customer at the customer’s work location. You are responsible for maintaining the overall quality of their data acquisition hardware, software, and various related instrumentation related to R&D and/or EOL testing of their product(s). You will support full functionality of the customer’s test cell, ensure proper implementation of A&D Technology products within the customer’s test cell and provide technical support and training to the customer’s staff.
What you'll do
Act as the primary technical liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring seamless product integration, issue resolution, and engineering support throughout the development lifecycle
Support small projects with direction from the team leader, maintain the scope of assigned work, and accurately estimate the schedule and budget for each project.
Collaborate with internal and external resources to maintain strong customer relationships with dedication to the project schedule.
Conduct commission of test stands/cells of simple projects, software code development strategies, and calibration verification.
Setup, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as low voltage (<50Vdc) data acquisition modules, pressure transmitters, load cells, and thermocouples, as well as other test cell systems that interface to the testing of the customer’s specific article under evaluation.
Act as a liaison and company representative with customers during sales, software fixes and project activities.
Perform follow-up technical support on specific applications.
Provide hands-on operations training to customers at their site.
Your Knowledge and Experience
Associate’s degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent of 4 years working experience in similar role.
Maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional customer service, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of their unique requirements and challenges
Proven understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Demonstrate applied knowledge of technical concepts, practices, procedures and data acquisition and control hardware
Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
Ability to work independently at the customer’s site with little or no supervision. Physical Demands
